Student Council celebrates the holiday spirit with Santa Pictures

Santa gets escorted to police car

Pictures were interrupted when Santa was escorted to the police car as part of a gag. Santa later returned to the cafeteria to resume pictures. The Student Council Board hosted these free pictures with Santa as a holiday gift. Miceli dressed up as Santa and posed with teachers and students for pictures. Pictures will be delivered to homerooms for distribution to students later this week.

GMS Band hosts band and choir concert

Students from Griswold Middle School will be performing their winter concert in the high school auditorium on Dec. 20 at 6:30 pm. The concert will feature the concert and jazz bands and the concert and select choirs. The concert will be open to the public with no tickets for admission.

Law & Order classes prepare for mock trial

The annual mock trial will be held in the auditorium on Wednesday Dec. 21 during the school day. Attorneys from Mr. Bobrow’s Law & Order class will be defending Casey Davidson in the trial for the murder of Alex Thompson. Dr. Rosenberg’s class will take on the role of the prosecuting team. The trial judges will be Mr. Bobrow and Dr. Rosenberg and a jury of students will deliver their verdict. Students who are not part of the legal team or on the jury will NOT be allowed to watch the trial.

Student Council hosts Ugly Sweater Day

Students and staff are invited to wear their ugly sweaters on the Friday before winter break on Dec. 23.

Animal Advocacy Club hosts Holiday Collection for Shelter Pets

The Animal Advocacy Club asks students to bring any pet items for shelter pets. The most needed items are canned cat food, dry cat food, cat litter, and pet store gift cards. Donation boxes can be found around the school. Contact Ms. Malkin in the guidance office for additional information.
