Homecoming tickets sell out

Homecoming is being held on February 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the cafe. Tickets sold out on Wednesday, meaning over 300 tickets were sold in just 3 days. According to the Student Council, nearly a fourth of the tickets were sold on the first day alone. It is a semi-formal dance with the theme “A Night in Hollywood.” Tickets will not be sold at the door and IDs (or pictures of IDs) must be brought to the front entrance.

National Honor Society opens peer tutoring lab

The National Honor Society (NHS) opened a peer tutoring lab, being held in the mezzanine during students’ study halls. Students who have been recommended by their teachers have the opportunity to be assigned to a peer tutor, a member of the NHS. Tutoring is being offered in all subjects.

Bryan Wziontko selected as the Connecticut Art Educator of the Year

Ceramics teacher Bryan Wziontko has been selected as the Outstanding Secondary Art Educator of the Year by the Connecticut Art Education Association. Wziontko will be celebrated in an awards ceremony this Saturday at the New Britain Museum of American Art from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
